WFHA Pickup Hockey
Overview
Pickup is a casual playing opportunity where players are randomly divided into 2 or 3 teams each week. We play on a reduced sized field with pop-up goals and modified rules to keep it safe and accessible for everyone. It is self-umpired, and the field is not lined for hockey (RFK location).
Pickup is meant to be low cost and fun. It is open for people of all skill levels. If you're learning to play, haven't played in a while, or just want to take things for fun without keeping score — then pickup is for you!
Registration
Tickets are purchased à la carte, so there is no pressure to sign up for a whole season. Goalies are welcome to join the fun too, however they should confirm with the organizer ahead of time so we know to bring our Bownet goals.
All players must be 18+

When: Fridays starting September 5th through November 21st

What to bring
Equipment

We strongly recommend everyone wear shin guards, a mouth guard, and appropriate footwear.
If you don't have a stick, sign up and join the WhatsApp group. Someone will be able to bring a spare.
White and Dark Shirt

Bring both a white and dark top that you feel comfortable playing in. Be prepared to switch to keep the teams balanced.
Reversible WFHA pinnies can be purchased here.
Plenty of Water

Remember to bring lots of water to all play.
The Fields at RFK has refill stations, however they are often out of the way.

We foster a friendly environment and welcome everyone to participate.

How to get there
Upon registration, additional information about the location and transportation will be provided.
The fields are located at 401 Oklahoma Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002. Parking is free. Please park in the designated parking lot as security does not patrol outside of this area. Security will not support any parking related issues that occur outside of the designated lot.
The closest Metro is Stadium-Armory (OR, SL, BL) and is about a 15 minute walk away.
