1. Who can play with WFHA?

WFHA accepts all players who have a background in playing hockey, either from high school, college, or internationally. There is no minimum skill level requirement. Members must be over 18, but we make an exception for male players since there are no other places for them to play. For females under 18 we recommend looking into local U19 clubs such as Mustangs Field Hockey Club.

2. How does WFHA work?

WFHA is a club to play hockey and meet people who love the sport. In that vein, there are three main aspects of WFHA: Season Play, Tournaments, and Social Events. Each is elaborated upon below.

3. What is season play?

Season play is the main focus of WFHA. Each season there is a league and pick-up play. League play is a 4 team league, where teams are chosen at the start of each season. In the league scores and standings are kept and a championship is held at the end.

Each season also features pick-up hockey on a different day that is less competitive and scores are not kept. This is perfect for people of all skill levels, especially people looking to get back into the sport. Specific information about season play can be found here.

Players can buy a full season pass ($90-120, depending on the season) or they can purchase individual drop in dates if they plan on missing a large number of season dates ($15-20, depending on the season.)

4. Where does WFHA Play?

WFHA plays at a few different locations depending on the season, every location is within the city limits and are all accessible by public transportation. Visit the Current League Season and Current Pick-up Season pages to find details on the location.

5. What type of social events does WFHA do?

WFHA is a place to not only play hockey, but make friends as well. We do social events throughout the year ranging from winery trips (with limo ride), karaoke nights, river tubing, end of season drinks and more. All social events are open to all players, and are advertised via the mailing list. Check out our Instagram for photos of past events.

6. Do I need a membership to join?

WFHA does require membership, but there are two options: a WFHA membership, or a USAFH membership. WFHA memberships cost $10/year and cover you for all WFHA events within the year (including tournaments like Beach Bash).  You can purchase a WFHA membership here.  You can also purchase a yearly USAFH membership for $30/year. This is necessary if you plan on participating in events such NITs and other USAFH National events. You can join USAFH here.

7. What's the easiest way to stay up to date?

The best ways to stay up to date are to join the mailing list, and like us on facebook.

8. How does WFHA vary from European/Argentinian Clubs?

A number of our members come from Europe or Argentina, so we want to point out that there are some major differences. WFHA does not own a club house nor do they own the field. We rent them from the Universities or schools.

WFHA does competes against other clubs during the year in tournaments, but we do not compete every week like you may have experienced elsewhere.

WFHA also does not cut members or place them in tiers. Members can self select which divisions they want to play in.

9. What is the refund policy?
