Umpires are provided, and it is played on a turf field lined for hockey. Pickup is a casual way to play hockey, It is a less competitive environment than league. It is also a more affordable option. A number of our members come from Europe or Argentina, so we want to point out that there are some major differences with US clubs. WFHA does not own a club house and does not own a field. Properties are rented through universities, schools, or local parks. WFHA does compete against other clubs during the year, but we do not compete every week like you may have experienced elsewhere. WFHA also does not cut members or place them in tiers. Members may self select which divisions they want to play in.
